The research and development strategy of the Velenje Coal Mine was prepared by the Development Department. In the Technical Services, the development component has been placed among our main objectives.
Our activities are closely related to the following projects:
• development of new mine drilling technologies and equipment,
• optimal use of the geothermal source for potential economic activities,
• gas and odour emissions,
• coal dust control,
• demonstration of options for the optimisation of processes for increased efficiency and safety in coal mines by using the latest information and communication technologies,
• the NOP II shaft,
• development of the construction of roadways in the pits of the Velenje Coal Mine.
