The coal mine mechanical engineering unit manages:
• installation, dismantling and maintenance of mining equipment on faces and at preparation sites,
• maintenance and inspection of mechanical equipment in the coal mine’s main and adjoining facilities such as minewater pumping stations, infusion systems, high-pressure pumping station to deliver hydraulic power, facilities for the maintenance of battery-powered locomotives and locomotives for transport along a suspended rail system (Scharf diesel-powered rack-and-pinion locomotive),
• maintenance of conveyors used for coal transport,
• installation and inspection of fire protection system and equipment in the mine,
• installation, maintenance and inspection of all supply systems such as supply lines for compressed air, hydraulic energy (high-pressure emulsion line and emulsion return line) and high-pressure process water, minewater pipeline, and an emulsifier supply line connecting the mine with the surface,
• management, maintenance and inspection of crushers (crushing and sorting plant),
• maintenance and inspection of the ventilation system, compressor stations and heated air inlet devices,
• maintenance and inspection of shafts,
• maintenance and inspection of mechanical equipment in the Coal Mining Museum of Slovenia,
• transport of coal, materials, equipment and people.
