The mining design services are predominantly engaged in the elaboration of concepts, planning, designing of underground structures as well as preparatory and coal production works.

A special segment of the mining design services are the ventilation design services, as high-quality mine ventilation is a basic precondition for safe and efficient underground work. The mine ventilation system at the Velenje Coal Mine consists of over 60km of roadways and other structures.
